Our mission is inspired by the life of the Island’s 7th century saint, Cuthbert and is based upon five key qualities in his life and work. HOSPITALITYAs Cuthbert received people with kindness and hospitality, so we offer a warm welcome to today's visitors. TEACHINGAs he was a wise teacher, so we would teach and encourage visitors in Christian life and witness. SOLITUDEAs he sought solitude, so we offer retreats and quiet days and a place where the visitor may find peace. RECONCILIATIONAs he offered a ministry of reconciliation so we provide a ministry of healing bringing wholeness to people in all their relationships. RENEWAL OF WORSHIPAs Cuthbert’s day was worship centred, so we provided regular and innovative worship, and pray that visitors to Holy Island will return home taking with them that ‘fire of heavenly love’ which Cuthbert himself took with him wherever he went.
